  • Charity Week 2026

    Published 20/03/26

From Monday 23rd March to Friday 27th March, we will be taking part in Charity Week.

Charity Week is a fundraising initiative set up by our Trust two years ago. Throughout the week, all 14 CRST schools take part in various fundraising activities in order to raise money for Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity. Sutton Park raised a whopping £1088.88 last year, adding to the combined Trust total of £20k raised since the initiative was set up!

Pupils across the Trust have chosen this charity as they know children who have had to visit the hospital when they have been unwell, or they have been treated at the hospital themselves. They wanted to choose a charity that we all may need support from one day! It is a scary and unsettling time for anyone going into hospital but especially for children. We are aiming to raise money to make the experience of poorly children better by providing the best medical equipment and facilities and by creating a child-friendly environment.

Over the past couple of years, we've seen Mrs Weatherby and Mr Salisbury face the gunge - something they'd promised to do if we beat our fundraising targets.

This year, to help us beat our target of £1088.88, children will get to enjoy....

    Break the rules day!

Here’s a look at how you can help us to beat last years total throughout the week:

    • Daily - School councillors will be holding a bake sale each morning breaktime where children can purchase biscuits, cakes and donuts for a small donation of 50p - £1.
    • Tuesday 24th March - Guess the name of the Easter Bunny! The Easter bunny will visit classes and children will be able to guess its name for a donation of £1. The winner gets to take the bunny home!
    • Thursday 26th March - There will be a Teddy Bear Run - children can 'bring a bear' to show they care and take part in a fun run for a donation of £1!
    • Thursday 26th March - We will be holding an ice cream sale after school - there will be options available ranging from 50p - £1.
    • Friday 27th March - Children can take part in Break the Rules Day! For a donation of £1, children could... wear a different top / crazy hair / nail varnish / odd socks / wear trainers / pop on a hoodie / wear jeans instead of trousers (the normal school behaviour policy still applies!)

We would really appreciate your support in raising funds for this much deserving charity. If you are able to, please ensure your child has cash with them in school to be able to take part in the activities and bake sales throughout the week.

We will share daily updates so you can track our progress!

  • World Book Day - Thursday 5th March

    Published 11/02/26

We are excited to celebrate World Book Day on Thursday 5th March. This year’s theme focuses on sharing stories and raising the profile of reading for pleasure, and we have planned a special cosy 'Camp-In Reading' themed day to mark the occasion.

To help us create a warm and inviting atmosphere, pupils are welcome to come to school dressed in cosy clothing or pyjamas. They may also bring along their favourite thing to read-this could be a book, magazine, comic, or anything they enjoy spending time with. In addition, children are welcome to bring a favourite pillow or blanket to make their reading time even more comfortable.

Throughout the day, pupils will take part in a range of activities, including:

    • Sharing their favourite reading materials with friends
    • Enjoying some quiet, cosy reading time
    • Listening to a variety of stories read aloud

We look forward to a wonderful day celebrating the joy of reading and inspiring our pupils to discover even more stories they love.

Thank you for your continued support.
